1959 Belgium Eurovision BOB BENNY - Hou Toch Van Mij 7"

The item available here is a very rare original 7" vinyl single of the 1959 Eurovision song from BOB BENNY and the entry from Belgium "HOU TOCH VAN MIJ".  You can hear a sample above recorded directly from the exact 7" copy I have on auction!  The B-side features another song by Bob Benny, "EEN ENKEL WOORD" (often considered possible to have been one of the other songs from the long forgotten Belgian semi finals that year!).  This rare 7" was issued by the Belgian PHILIPS record label (319 495 BF).  The vinyl is clean and shiny but there are one or two surface marks although actually these are nothing too bad at all really. There are also a couple of bubbles on the vinyl which are part of the actual pressing but again have no effect on play as far as I can see.  The record labels have also faded and the title descriptions are not as easy to read as they would have been earlier.  The main issue here though is that there is a slight warp on the vinyl which does cause a slight vibration from the stylus at the earlier parts of the tracks.  However as you can hear from the audio sample and video images above, apart from the slight vibrations early on the record plays just fine on my decks (which have not had the arm weight adjusted in any way) without any jumps and only minimal surface noise in one or two places the same as most records of the same age.  This record is pretty rare actually and hardly ever comes up on auction so this is still a good opportunity to add a 7" copy of this very early Belgian entry to your collection.  I have included the video clip so there is no misunderstanding and that anybody placing a bid accepts the faults of the vinyl as shown on the video clip.  The picture sleeve is a top quality glossy hard card 'original colour scheme' reprint recreated from a rare EP picture sleeve edition.  This is a unique professional looking one-off picture sleeve issued especially for this 2 track 7" single I have on auction.  I don't think the 2 track 7" was ever issued with a picture sleeve back in 1959 so this one is therefore the first edition and you're not going to find another one exactly like this anywhere else!  This is a good opportunity to add a collectable  early rare Eurovision single with this top quality unique picture sleeve to your record collection!  The exact items I have on auction can be seen on the camera photos both above and below!  Despite how rare it is, since this 7" is not perfect I have started the auction price quite low. I do however only have this one copy available so don't miss your chance as it's still unlikely that many more copies of this are going to come up on auction in the near future!

Back in the eighties and nineties I was quite well known among many Eurovision collectors around the world as I always stocked a large selection of Eurovision records and CD's and during the nineties even arranged and financed the official release to press some of the more rare entries for wider availability to collectors.  I provided a Discography and photos of all Eurovision releases in the UK for RECORD COLLECTOR magazine and provided recordings and worked to get clearance for tracks on an official UK Eurovision CD release issued by VIRGIN.  Due to moving house my Eurovision vinyl has been in safe storage for almost a decade.  I have recently acquired back the very last copies of my Eurovision vinyl stocks.  In many cases I am down to my very last copy of each entry, especially those in mint condition and I now plan to sell everything over the upcoming months, so keep checking back each week for new additions to my listings.
