THIS IS A COPY OF THE 1963 UK LP “AUTHENTIC R&B” ON THE UK STATESIDE LABEL AND IS SERIOUSLY RARE IN THIS CONDITION! THIS WAS THE FIRST UK COMPILATION OF RECORDINGS FROM THE US LABEL ‘EXCELLO’ AND FEATURES 16 TRACKS BY THE LIKES OF LIGHTNIN’ SLIM, LAZY LESTER, SLIM HARPO, LONESOME SUNDOWN AND OTHERS. NEARLY EVERY UK R&B BAND HAD THIS ALBUM AND PERFORMED VERSIONS OF SOME OF THESE TRACKS WHICH BECAME CLASSICS. THE STONES RECORDED SLIM HARPO’S “I’M A KING BEE” ON THEIR FIRST ALBUM.
THE VINYL IS IN MINT CONDITION! THE COVER IS IN ACCEPTABLE CONDITION FOR ITS AGE. DONT MISS THIS VERY RARE OPPORTUNITY!
The Catalogue Number is SL10068 on the ORIGINAL BLACK STATESIDE label (see picture) and is a mono UK pressing.
The record labels are in STUNNING condition (see picture) with NO wear, NO writing, and NO spindle marks. THIS LP HAS HARDLY BEEN PLAYED AND THEN ONLY ON TOP QUALITY HI-FI EQUIPMENT. The vinyl is in SUPERB condition with NO scratches, NO scuff marks and NO signs of wear. THE RECORD STILL RETAINS EVERY BIT OF ITS ORIGINAL 'JUST PRESSED' LOOK! The record sounds as STUNNING as the visual! It plays with CRYSTAL CLEAR UNDISTORTED SOUND, NO sticking, NO groovewear, NO jumps, and NO crackle! The record plays SUPERBLY with ZERO DISTORTION! Believe me this record is NOT overgraded in ANY way! Brilliant!!
The cover is in ACCEPTABLE CONDITION FOR ITS AGE (see picture). It has NO wear to the spine and MODERATE edgewear. There is MODERATE wear to the EXTREME corners of the cover.
The front cover has a number of creases (see picture). There is a 14cm diagonal crease to the bottom left corner. There are 2 X 2cm diagonal creases 10cm below the top left corner. There are 3 vertical creases from the bottom edge of the front cover (0.5cm, 1cm and 1.5cm). There are 4 vertical creases from the top edge of the front cover (2 x 1cm and 2 x 0.5cm). The laminate has worn away at the EXTREME right edge of the front cover. The front cover has SIGNIFICANT ringwear (see picture). Apart from that, the cardboard is firm and strong, and little more of the surface of the front cover has rubbed away over the years.
The back cover is in MUCH BETTER condition. It has NO creases, only SLIGHT ringwear, and some browning to the extreme edges of the laminate. Apart from that it is CLOSE TO MINT.
THIS IS A FAIRLY RARE UK LP TO GET IN THIS CONDITION! MOST OF THEM WERE PLAYED TO DEATH AND THE COVERS ARE FAIRLY GRIM. DONT MISS OUT!
For packaging I use strong record boxes with extra stiffeners to stop damage and bends to the cover. All LPs are sent out with the record packed separately from the original cover to stop splits and damage to the cover.
