We have a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 2/3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers.
We mail all paid orders out once a week on Fridays/Saturdays. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule to Monday. We strive to keep our shipping and handling costs as close to actual charges as reasonable. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. Please be aware we have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.

THE SYNDICATE OF SOUND
Formed in San Jose, CA, in 1964, the Syndicate of Sound were one of the premier garage bands and forerunners of psychedelic rock, establishing a national following based on one massive 1966 hit, "Little Girl." Comprised of vocalist/guitarist Don Baskin, guitarist/keyboardist John Sharkey, lead guitarist Jim Sawyers, bassist Bob Gonzalez, and drummer John Duckworth, the predecessors to the Syndicate of Sound were groups called the Pharoahs. After recording an unsuccessful single for the Scarlet label, on January 9, 1966, Syndicate of Sound recorded "Little Girl" at a studio in San Francisco for Hush Records; it became a regional hit in California after San Jose radio stations latched onto it, attracting the attention of executives at Bell Records in New York, who later asked the group to record an album.
"Little Girl", a shakin' garage punk groover (chosen for the first Nuggets garage punk comp) -- began to break nationally first in Oklahoma City, and the record entered Billboard magazine's Top 40; just before the single broke, original guitarist Larry Ray was pushed out of the band, and the group hired Jim Sawyers instead. When they flew to New York that summer, it was with Sawyers, and since Bell Records was anxious to get their group on the road, Syndicate of Sound toured constantly for the latter half of 1966, taking time off to tape TV shows like American Bandstand and Where the Action Is; James Brown, who appeared with them on one of the TV shows, was so impressed that he invited them to open his theater show in San Francisco. Besides the punky garage classic "Little Girl", other happening cuts here include "I'm Alive","Dream Baby","Lookin' For The Good Times",the should've-been-a-hit "Is You Is Or Is You Ain't My Baby?" and "Witch", though the album is solid & classic garage rock & roll.

CONDITION: The cover: all seams are solid, no delete marks which says something for this copy as most copy found have delete marks ...the dark cover, after 42+ years is almost always with wear, this copy has light ring wear that was starting... otherwise looks a keeper and the nice vinyl will make it even more attractive....
The vinyl is all glossy "EX" (excellent) very clean. plays TOP.
