Description

PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.   We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING: USA ~ 1 LP $4.00 Media; 2-4 discs $5.00; .50 each additional disc Priority rates vary by area; please inquire.   CANADA ~ 1 LP 8.50; 2 discs $10.00; 3 discs $11.50; over 4 please contact us for shipping costs.   AUSTRALIA, THAILAND, JAPAN ~ 1 LP $18.00; 2 discs $23.00; 3 discs $27.00; 4 discs $32.00. TOP COPY ...MINT Clean ALL OVER... 100% guranteed original press on (silver/blue) PHILIPS

Original 1970 first pressing in nice gatefold cover...

The very first (and arguably BEST) Le ORME album..at the time a powerful unique keyboard driven band, very early adventurous progressive...Back in 1969 they released their first album, "Ad Gloriam", which finds the band exploring pop/psychedelia. Realizing the style of that music was changing, in part to the rise of progressive rock, they decided to go prog, and the results is "Collage", which is the first in a series of albums that would serve them well for their next three releases. They moved to Philips from a label called Car Juke Box, and reduced their lineup to a three piece with Claudio Galieti and Nino Smeraldi now out of the picture, leaving the band with bassist/guitarist/vocalist Aldo Tagliapietra, keyboardist Toni Pagliuca, and drummer Michi dei Rossi...The music is here is more RAW (has that live "in the studio" feel) than their albums that followed and there are some extended organ solos and odd experiments that will turn some collectos "ON" and might turn some off ( like those who enjoy Lp's "Uomo di Pezza" and "Felona e Sorona".) Pagliuca's keyboard setup here is just Hammond organ and clavinet. The title track is very busy like the best parts of The NICE, with some classical themes played on a clavinet. "Cemento Armato" consists of a lenghty organ solo. The organ here is heavily fuzzed and oddly for a LE ORME album -- One can't help but be reminded of Mike Ratledge of SOFT MACHINE or Vincent Crane of Atomic Rooster. You may have never imagined LE ORME sounding like this! More shock arrives with this experiment called "Evasione Totale" -- reminding of many of the Krautrock groups of the time. It's full of spacy organ, experiments with echo effects, complex passages, and love how Aldo Tagliapietra gives us nice bass work to go with it! Hard to believe what they were doing just two years before ("Ad Gloriam"). There's a psychedelic experiment called "Immagini", dominated by organ, and complete with Tagliapietra's voice electronically modified, as common with late '60s psychedelia. But one thing for sure is this is something you won't mistake for "Ad Gloriam". "Collage" was the album that helped launch the Italian prog scene, and a truly underrated album then and 40 years later of much on-going sought after interest...
