Description
PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us. Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 18,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING: USA ~ 1 LP = $4.00 Media Priority rates vary by area; please inquire. - 1973 ORIGINAL GERMAN UNDERGROUND ala early Pink Floyd
..|/\|...............................................|/\|..
- = JANE =
- "Together"
- ..|/\|...............................................|/\|..
- GERMANY - green Brain - 1032
- MINTY 1973 ORIGINAL pressing in laminated gatefold cover of the second JANE album, right in the middle of the KRAUTOCK "highs" captivating all parts of the globe.
-
- Dreamy Mellotron backing, gushing organ, soaring guitar and symphonic Pink Floyd early '70s textures, JANE became huge, though in these early days they were broke & struggling to find a place among the exploding phenomena of Germany's experimental underground rock scene of the early '70's ...
- Cumbersome back beats, stoned out languid vocals, distorted guitar and Mellotron sweeps give Jane a more groovy feel on their second psychedelic blues/rock album which stylistically occupies a grey zone somewhere in the region between kosmishe musik and more of the early '70s Pink Floyd style of progressive-rock. Much more straightforward and less whacked out than the more experimental music of some of their German contemporaries such as Xhol Caravan, Guru Guru or Amon Duul II ~ this melodic hard edged progressive unit, known affectionately as JANE became a top ranked act among ALL German rock groups throughout the '70s. Jane's music is certainly more accessable to the casual listener.
Overcoming the loss of singer Berndt Pulst who delivered the soulful vocal power on the outstanding Green Brain debut Together, drunmmer Peter Panka takes over on vocals and Wolfgang Krantz joins as an interim bass/guitar player replacing ailing Charly Maucher. Practically broke at the time, the band had to borrow music equipment in order to complete the album, exemplified by the ballad Out In The Rain with it's orchestral meloncholic air which was to become an everlasting fan favorite retaining high praised PINK FLOYD qualities. Although not as forward moving and hard rocking as it's predecessor Here We Are has denser feel to it with it sounds as if the band was slowed down particularly on the first extended track Redskin which plods along at a tortoise pace for almost 9 minutes getting into a cool psychedelic groove. -
- The FAN-MAN chimes in:
- The album starts strongly with quite a unique tune REDSKIN , a 8mns extravagant odyssey of groovy beats accompanying a psychedelic guitar solo before some spoken words appear with nice organ texture...and female vocals sounding like Indian chants (yes the title of the song is REDSKIN!). At least this is a very different track that cannot compare to anything else. You may like it or you may not; that's not here to leave you indifferent for sure.
OUT IN THE RAIN is pure JANE at its best: a wonderful melodic ballad well sung with a beautiful Mellotron soundscape and of course another emotional guitar solo just playing the right notes, but the ones which will touch you deep inside if you are into melody.DANDELION and MOVING follow in the same style, slow paced with a lot of organ and more beautiful guitar sounds. KLAUS HESS guitar technic is not about playing 20000 notes a minute, this is about making his guitar cry and transport deep emotions from his playing to your inner self making you feel good. A guitar with a heart so to speak!!
WATERFALL is another mid-tempo spacey track with again beautiful guitar, angelic Mellotron and....those delicate backing vocals! Such a beauty! and this wonderful symphonic ending is sure to bring you to progressive-rock heaven!
LIKE A QUEEN is another dreamy symphonic piece, albeit short but showcasing perfectly the JANE spirit and how good they can be at producing the best romantic melodic prog you will ever hear, sometimes reminding of early NOVALIS.
- HERE WE ARE the title track is more on the rock side with strong guitar riffs, but not that hard, don't worry! This song was the single of the album (the famous 45 rpm of the time). An excellent opportunity for KLAUS HESS to show us how he can carry a song with a long powerful guitar solo getting more and more furious towards the end, but still played so tastefully!
HERE WE ARE is the perfect complement to their first album, "TOGETHER."
