Bob (Robert Nesta) Marley was a Jamaican singer, musician and songwriter. Considered one of the pioneers of reggae, his musical career was marked by fusing elements of reggae, ska and rocksteady, as well as distinctive vocals and songwriting style. His contributions to music increased the visibility of Jamaican music worldwide, and made him a global figure in popular culture to this day. Natty Dread is Bob Marley and the Wailers 7th album and was released in 1974 by Island/Tuff Gong Records. It has been made a gold album and in 2003 it was ranked No. 181 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. Natty Dread is a spiritually charged political and social statement. The album includes some very well known classic hits such as Rebel Music, Lively Up Yourself and No Woman, No Cry. CAT# ILPS-9281 Album cover is in excellent condition with very minimal wear. Comes with original full color paper sleeve which includes pictures of the band members and all the song lyrics and is in excellent condition. Record is in Near Mint/Mint- condition.
