Andrew Hill - Point Of Departure - 1976 ish Stereo LP - BLUE NOTE - VAN GELDER in the dead wax both sides. What a killer line up, with Kenny Dorham, Joe Henderson and Eric Dolphy on the front line, the leader at the piano with Richard Davis and Tony Williams completing the rhythm section. Five of the biggest names to have ever made Blue Note albums, in just this one off grouping. They are on fire.
Fifty year old pressing still in the original shrink wrap, with the 1st type sleeve having the 43 west 61st street address to rear and the dual catalogue number for mono to the top right corner, as only the older sleeves did. A low plays analog era pressing from 50 years ago, well before digital transfers were even thought of! So in lovely warm immediate sound, a sweet spot in time as by then styli were decent, proper turntables were more mainstream and the useless old groove killing radiograms had gone out of fashion. This is priced a little below the going rate, but the real saving for a UK or European buyers is the postage saving. $27 best post i saw out there, then there's the import duty, so I am saving you half the selling price really at least. We offer massive postage subsidies to overseas buyers on multiple purchases. i.e £1 extra per lp to a maximum of £15, then no extra charge. We pack carefully in custom made hard card boxes. If the appearance or playgrade suggests it requires it, our records are cleaned on a wash and vac machine, using art du son fluid in distilled water. This is already in a new heavy poly outer with antistatic inners added with outer sleeve and records all layered behind each other to prevent splits.
