“The Great Sounds (Unistar December 13, 1985).” This is a 4-hour and 4 LP radio program hosted by Ray Otis featuring music of the 30s, 40s, 50s and newer with emphasis on music from the great American songbook. Each program features songs and interviews with a special guest, a segment on Frank Sinatra, and some programs highlight a specific year. In addition guest artists, etc. tell behind the scenes stories of the time. This week sees singer Teresa Brewer as the featured guest with 12 Arden cuts and also appearances from Peter Allen, Don Shirley, Vic Damone, Hildegard, and Mitchell Parish. In total, each program usually features 40-50 cuts by artists and also included this week are: Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Bobby Vinton, Johnnie Ray, Tommy Dorsey, Dean Martin, Fred Astaire, Al Martino, Lorne Greene, Nat Cole, Louis Armstrong, and more. There is also a strong emphasis on Christmas songs this week. Includes cue sheets (includes written notes, underlines, etc from stations and has tear). Records are in strong VG to strong VG+ condition and cover is in VG condition (paper tear on front). Postage will be paid by purchaser.
