Description
This auction is for a two-record set of children's Vogue Picture Records (Vogue Album V-106) with original cardboard sleeve. These records have charming color illustrations directly on the records themselves. The set is titled "For the Children" and includes two records: "The Trial of Bumble, the Bee" and "The Boy Who Cried Wolf". Illustrations by Kanouse. Produced by James Jewell. Orchestra directed by Hunter Kahler. I can't find any dates anywhere, but internet research shows these are from the 1940s.
Please review photos carefully as this item has condition issues. I do not have a turntable so I do not know the playing condition of these records. There ARE scratches on both records when tilted up to the light. The most noticeable flaw is on "The Boy Who Cried Wolf" which has a slightly raised black spot near the hole by the wolf. (See last photo above.) No overall warping or cracks on the records. Cardboard sleeve has extensive edge and corner wear. The bottom is split and worn with cardboard pieces both missing and hanging off of it. Sleeve surfaces have soil and scuffing. NO inner sleeves (but I don't know if there were present originally). NO writing anywhere. NO musty odors.
