Description

Louis Armstrong, 4 records, where do I start, how about the easy ones...RCA Victor, Louis Armstrong and His All Stars featuring Jack Teagarden, record # 20-2348 "Jack Armstrong Blues"/"Rockin' Chair".  Record two is on Vocalion, the label says that its Erskine Tate's Vendrome Orchestra, my father-in-laws notes on the liner state that Louis Armstrong is playing trumprt on this, being more or less "in the industry" I trust his notes.  That should place this quite early in his carreer.  The record # is 15372 "Static Strut"/"Stomp Off, Let's Go".  The last two records are on Okeh Electric, the first is Louis Armstrong & His Sebastion New Cotton Club Orchestra, I can't read the record #, "Body and Soul"/"Ring Dem Bells".  The second record on Okeh is, Louis Armstrong & His Orch, here again I can't read the record #, "Some of Those Days"/"When You're Smilin'".   Condition, we'll do this in reverse, the last record on Okeh is in pretty bad shape, the label is very worn, and there are some pretty bad scratches on both sides, but its Louis Armstrong, someone might be able to save it.  The other Okeh record, isn't nearly as bad, the label is worn but fairly readable, there are some scratches but not nearly as many and not as deep.  The Vocalion has some fine scratches, and a few that might cause a problem, part of the label on side B has a gouge in it. The RCA Victor, side A looks funny to me, I wish that I could try to play it, it looks like side B has some fine scratches in it.  Here again all these records need a good cleaning.  I'd rather overstate how bad the condition is then to understate it. If they were from a minor artist I wouldn't bother listing them.  Maybe someone can bring them back. Thats why I'm starting with a low bid.  I hate to see them in the trash.
