Description

Included in this auction are Five 45 RPM records by Don Deal who I believe may have been from Canada.  He was a close friend of legendary Rockabilly / Country songwriter and singer Hank Cochran with whom he co-wrote many of these songs. Some selections are very Rockabilly and others are strong Rock Ballads with larger combos, orchestral accompaniment. Don Deal had a voice much like "Elvis" which seemed to be amazingly versatile and could rock or be romantic.

These are medium tempo rockers with cool guitar and lots of 50's echo on the voice.

Don Deal - "You'd Look Good With A Tear In Your Eye" (Composer Hank Cochran) B/W "She Was Here But She's Gone"

"You'd Look Good With A Tear In Your Eye" is a medium tempo Rock ballad  and the "B" Side is a Rock love ballad.

Don Deal - "My Blind Date" (Composed By Don Deal & Hank Cochran) B/W "Even Then"

"My Blind Date" is a very clever Rockabilly Rocker with story about going on a blind date. Good guitar! "Even Then" is a medium tempo rocker that shows Don Deal's excellent voice.

Don Deal & His Moontars - "Just Thought I'd Call" B/W "A Change Is All I Ask"

Both sides of this one were written by Hank Cochran and Don Deal. They are Rock love songs with back-up vocal group somewhat like "Elvis & The Jordanaires."

Don Deal & His Moontars - "Sweet Love" B/W "The First Teenager"

A drivin rocker style with two cool cuts both written by Hank Cochran and Don Deal. "Sweet Love" has good guitar and vocal and "The First Teenager" is a Rock-N-Roll story of a young Adam & Eve.

Here is a good collection of a little known and highly underated singer from 1957 & 58! If you know more about Don Deal let us know! All 5 records are in Excellent - Near Mint Condition.
