5X Victor Records ~ Cantonese/Chinese ~ 78 RPM ~ Circa 1915
Description
While I can't read the writing here are a grouping of five very early Chinese/Cantonese recordings on the Victor label. All are almost 100 years old and are single sided and recorded in China. Each of the records has an issue with swishing in play. I believe that some have been damp along the edge. Those swish for the first bit and then clean up. A couple have light swishing throughout. Having said that, the music comes through loud and strong throughout despite the extra surface noise. Overall, VG to VG- records, very collectible but with some extra surface noise in play. GRADING Near Mint NM, NM- Showing no or at most very minor signs of use Excellent E+ , E, E- Only slight wear, playing surfaces still shiny, minimal surface noise Very Good VG+ , VG, VG- Acceptable copy, somewhat more worn, slight grayness may appear, surface noise may be noticeable but not excessive Good G Good is not so good, more gray, more surface noise
