Description
I have for auction an EMIDISC Acetate (EMI). The typed label credits the artist as "ZABRES" and the title is "TURKISH SYMPHONY" which might be misleading as it features a guitar instrumental atypical of the early 1960s - reminded me of The Ventures. No vocals feature on this recording - just guitars and drums. I can find no reference of the band beyond the fact that they, or a similar named band, is mentioned in a book about the "South Coast Beat Scene" of the 1960s. The labels on the credited side are lifting and need to be restuck. The EMIDISC label is secure but looks a bit thin/faded/rubbed - see photos. There are a couple of points on the rim where the aluminium is exposed - does not effect play. As you'd expect with an acetate it does plays with crackled and surface noise and this one is no exception - it looks like it could do with a clean (surface looks a bit blotchy) but I shall let any winning bidder attend to this. As it stands it plays quite well now (notwithstanding expected hiss) and plays with 3 definite clicks but not much else. There are a few light marks on the vinyl but most noticable is the variation on lustre. The blank side has some marks.
All records and CDs are thoroughly played to assess condition in addition to a visual inspection.
