DESCRIPTION:
A group of transcriptions from early Los Angeles radio (circa 1928-1930) of the Baron Keyes Air Castle program targeted for kindergarten aged children, and probably one of the first kiddie shows on radio.  As early as April 1928, station KJH in Los Angeles noted that Baron Keyes program was one of the most popular programs they were airing. The 'puppet show of the air' had fanciful made up characters named Clickety-Clak, Bugler Murphy, Happy Duck and others, and was the complete creation of Keyes - songs, storyline, characters, sound effects were written, created, produced, played and portrayed by one man.  Keyes was the entire show.  There's a fascinating, detailed article on Baron Keyes and the Air Castle program on the digitaldeliftp website dedicated to preserving old time radio for the digital future.  Episodes of Air Castle can be found on the Old Time Radio Downloads website. Look up 'Keyes, Baron' under the Radio Stars K tab.  None are as early as the programs in this lot.
Note descriptions of condition above.  Sound is clear and strong with some light occasional crackle or tics from pressure lams.  The discs have warpage issues, some track with a thump, and toward the middle of the sides most of the problems disappear. They can use a bit extra weight, but in general should be flattened.
