Description

Huggins and Phillips Sacred Harp Singers.  Vocalion #5273.  Lover of the Lord and Blooming Youth.  One of the more obscure Sacred Harp Recording groups from the 20's.  Shape note singing.
Except for a crack, this would be an E, I think.  But as things stand, the sound of the "notes", ie the singing of the fasola syllables, which precedes the singing of the words in this tradition, is affected by an annoying crack.  By the time the "notes" are finished, the crack does not affect the sound when the "words" are sung, in other words about halfway through each side.
Hymns, spirituals, roots music, fasola.
