Description
- A mono, 33 1/3 rpm, vinyl LP, "A Hard Day's Night" by The Beatles.
- Released in 1964 on Parlophone
- The LP features music from the soundtrack of The Beatles first film 'A Hard Day's Night'. Side 1 contains tracks used in the film, the tracks on Side 2 were written for the film but not used. It was recorded between January and June, 1964, and released in July of the same year, in time for the release of the film in the UK. Recorded primarily at Abbey Road Studios, but also at Pathe Marconi in Paris.
- Produced by George Martin
- The sleeve has 20 pictures (5 of each Beatle) on the cover, with 4 individual photos of the band on the back. Robert Freeman was responsible for the design and photography (not credited). The back also has a full track listing and sleeve notes by The Beatles then press officer, Tony Barrow. There is an advert for 'Emitex' cleaning material. Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Lt.d, with a laminated front cover and flipbacks.
- Poly lined EMI inner sleeve with care instructions and an endorsement for 'Emitex' cleaning cloths.
- This looks to be a first pressing.
- Label identifiers:- Black and yellow Parlophone label with the perimeter rim copyright text, 'THE PARLOPHONE CO LTD • ALL RIGHTS OF THE MANUFACTURER AND OF THE OWNER OF THE RECORDING WORK RESERVED • UNAUTHORISED PUBLIC PERFORMANCE BROADCASTING AND COPYING OF THIS RECORD PROHIBITED'.
- Above the spindle hole the centre text, 'SOLD IN THE U.K. SUBJECT TO RESALE PRICE CONDITIONS, SEE PRICE LISTS'
- The right-hand side indicator numerals appearing under the '2' in the catalogue number 'PMC 1230' above them.
- The publishing copyright date is given as 'RECORDING FIRST PUBLISHED 1964', and is nearly left-aligned compared to the matrix number above it.
- A2 'I Should Have Known Better' has its title split over 2 lines.
- All of the song titles on side 2 appear on separate lines.
-The KT purchase tax code embossing on the label on either side of the spindle hole.

- All songs written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. This was the first of their albums to include all original recordings and the only one where all songs are written by Lennon and McCartney.
- The vinyl is VG with some faint scratches. They're not particularly audible in a Mono pressing, with just an occasional pop, but there is some slight surface noise between tracks
- The sleeve is G+, front cover has some faint creasing in the laminate. Some slight edge wear at the openingSome handling marks on the rear and a Biro mark in back the top, left-hand corner.
- The inner sleeve has some faint creasing and has a slight tear at the opening, but is otherwise intact with some light handling marks.
