1964 UK 1st *MONO* PRESSING LP
On the yellow & black Parlophone label: PMC 1230
Both labels have the initial 'chubby' style font and carry the 'Sold in UK..' text & 'Parlophone Co. Ltd..' rims
The 'KT' tax/price code is visible in the centre of the side 1 label.
Housed in the rarer front laminated, tri-flipback 'Ernest J. Day' printed mono cover.
Complete with its original white 'Use Emitex' rice-paper lined inner-sleeve.
Matrix numbers: XEX 481-3N & XEX 482-3N
Stamper numbers: 2/RM & 1/AG
Disc weight: 165g

Labels: EXCELLENT
Some spindle trails but no major faults.
Visual: VERY GOOD +
Very clean & glossy surfaces which when examined in strong daylight display just a single 1mm tiny inaudible mark on track 3 on side 2, but no other major marks or wear to either side. Examination directly under my halogen desk lamp reveals just some some wispy inner-sleeve removal hairlines but no other marks or any scratches.
Play: EXCELLENT
Superb clean & warm sound with no significant or major deterioration to the sound quality throughout. Both run-ins and all bands play without any clicks or interference, making this a very respectable listening copy.
Cover
VERY GOOD +
This bright and clean example displays just some light handling & storagewear without any major faults. The front panel is a vibrant blue with just a few light handling wrinkles and minor rubbing to the lower right corner and front opening edge. The rear panel has slight toning and still bears the original retailers sticker on the upper flipback. All flipbacks themselves are complete & intact and both seams and the spine are strong, unsplit & undamaged.
Inner-sleeve
EXCELLENT
Clean, white & flat with just no significant wear on any tears, splits or writing.
- Strict & grading under strong daylight & directly beneath a halogen desk lamp to UK 'RECORD COLLECTOR' standards.
- I carefully play every record I sell on a $5,000 Rega P9 turntable at volume and list all visual and audible faults.
