Description
This month we have a series of absolutely knock out original records from the sweet but hopelessly obscure musical waters of 1960s and 70s Sudan!
The country produced a type of extremely beautiful crossover music back then which also depicted its geographical location: Egyptian influence from the north, Saharan breeze-like easiness in melody from Tchad, more Taarab like Arabic influence both from Egypt and the whole East African heritage, Abyssinian grooves and melodic lines from the south which is Ethiopia, all put together with an amalgamation facilitated with a lot of western musical and instrumental influences. This hauntingly beautiful music flourished in those days when the political, religious and economic situation in Sudan was not as bad as recent days.
This scene is still not extensively documented as it is absolutely extremely difficult to find original artefacts and artists let alone the difficulty in finding the discs in the country itself! We have gathered a handful of originals (and it HAS become an adventure to succeed in this!) in truly amazing shape since especially, when they do come up, they are usually in trashed condition. These are amazingly clean and usually come with original sleeves! Simply amazing...
We will provide the names of the songs to the winning bidder. This record is by Abu Araki Elbaghiet. Cover VG++ to EX- (no seam splits, no tears or writings, only very light ringmark), disc is clean VG with only thin hairlines, no scratches or serious marks
