Description
AL FOSTER and JOHN LEWIS – “Transaxdrum Vol. 1” (1977) Finite-19771 original pressing M-/M- (cover/record)
A deep and spiritual private free jazz album by saxophonist Al Foster and drummer John Lewis on the tiny Finite label that put out a total of five records – most of them include John Lewis as the drummer. The drumming is modal and similar to his work on the “Waterbearers” album by The Cosmic Twins on Strata-East that he cut with Ron Burton in 1974, although the vibe of this LP is more free overall. He would later go on to record as the drummer for the band Madhouse that was affiliated with Prince in the mid-1980s. This is a really scarce album and there is almost no info available on it anywhere. There was never a second volume.
This is an original pressing. The cover is perfect in shrink wrap. The vinyl is pristine. Conservative grading: M-/M- (cover/record).
Winner pays postage. Domestic U.S. shipping is $4 media rate or $10 for priority mail (insurance additional and quoted at cost). International first class shipping (7-10 day delivery) varies by postal zone. Please see the listing for specific costs.
I highly recommend postal insurance to protect against any damage that might occur during shipping.
I package all LPs securely in record mailers and remove the vinyl from the covers to prevent seam splits during mailing. I do not just stick your record in a priority mailer box from the post office or between two thin pieces of cardboard with no additional packaging materials like so many others!!!
I accept Paypal for all transactions and other methods of payment we can discuss - just send me a message.
Thanks for looking, and good luck!
