Description
This is a very rare LP by Allee Willis released in 1974 by CBS. Although she had considerable singing talent and wrote her own songs, It would prove to be the only record of any kind she would do. She preferred to write and create art. The record sold poorly and faded away. It is extremely hard to find. After this record she moved to Los Angeles and became a well known songwriter and artist. Among her songwriting achievements were hits for Earth, Wind and Fire and The Pointer Sisters and songs for the movie Color Purple soundtrack. She wrote the theme songs for the Karate Kid and T.V. series Friends among many other projects. She was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. This record I have listed for sale is an original copy of Allee's only record " Allee Willis Childstar ". The cover is rated Good + as it has some issues including a sticker on the front and tape on a seam. Also a Promo stamp on the back .The gloss is very good and there is no storage ring wear. The vinyl is Excellent (VG++) and plays mint. No pops or noise. Included is the original inner sleeve with the songs and lyrics. Songs include : Childstar, I Have, Ain't No Man Worth It, I Don't Know How, If You Were Only Robert Young, Into Feeling Lonely, What Kind of Shoes Does September Wear ?, Children's Day Parade, Who You Gonna Be ?, and ,Missing Something Special. All written by Allee. The album cover might give the impression that this is a children's record. Far from it. I think of Allee's style as a playful version of Laura Nyro. She did a nice job . The album should have sold better in my opinion.
