Description
ANSERMET / ALBENIZ / TURINA / O.S.R. - " IBERIA / DANZAZ FANTASTICAS ", The Decca Recording Company Ltd (SXL 2243) Stereo, 1960.
Very rare 1960, first UK Stereo pressing of the very rare Decca LP with the all important grooved wideband Decca Label featuring the "Original Recording by..." label text - see photo.
English issue and pressing.
Professionally cleaned on my Moth record cleaning machine and then put in a fresh new poly-lined inner sleeve (the original inner sleeve has also been kept and will be included with this item).
In the name of getting the auction going, I will start this item at just 99p.
CONDITION:
VINYL = V.G.+ (Although generally clean, this LP suffers a spidery scratch mark about a third of a the way in on the second side - most probably from a stylus being left on the record when it was not playing. Otherwise it has a few faint surface scuffs, but no other serious damage. During playback it mostly plays very well - there is some very faint surface noise during the silent run-in which is still audible for a couple of rotations at the start of the record. Apart from that there is a bit of faint noise and the odd soft click and crackle over the aforementioned mark (taking in about 15-20 rotations from start to finish, although not on every roation) - it does not ruin the record in my opinion, even though I listened with headphones, although it does obviously devalue it and should be taken into account when placing max bids.
Note: for the purposes of this listing I have tested this LP on my Linn LP12 Sondek turntable - generally this is quite a critical test, but I must point out that I cannot guarantee exactly how this LP will sound on your turntable - common sense for most... but then this is ebay!!!)
SLEEVE = V.G. (No rips, tears, massive creases, defacing, etc. The front cover is in reasonable shape although it has some light wear and is quite 'yellowed', the rearhowever has been hit quite hard by some very old tape which has been put on to protect it, but left tape residue which has really yellowed - see photos for further clarification
