Description
This copy of War of the Ring/Ice Cream Theme was recently found by Mike Whitbread, ARC lead guitarist, in a box in his attic where it has been for the last 30 years. It is absolutely mint and unplayed, and the picture cover is also absolutely mint.
It is one of the original 1981 pressing, but it is also one of a small number ordered with the middle stamped out to be sent to DJ's and radio stations, but for some reason was never sent out, although it was found in an envelope ready for mailing. I have never seen one of these before. Also, it has ARC MUSIC stamped on the white inner sleeve to identify it, as it would have been sent without its picture cover. I have never seen that before, either.
The sleeve is flat, being both unfolded and unglued, as they were originally ordered. The band had to fold and glue the covers themselves, which is why you never see one that isn't creased in some way. This is probably the last opportunity to acquire this rare single in mint condition from ARC themselves. I will also include a copy of the War of the Ring lyrics. I occasionally play bass guitar for ARC here in the local Kiddeminster area.
