GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie il controllo viene effettuato sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i dischi in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati, i 33 giri su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1 mentre gli EP e i singoli a 45 giri con un Thorens TD 166 BC fornito di una testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All records in auction have been fully heard. Lps on a Rega Planar 3 turntable with a Grado Statement 1 moving magnet cartridge, EPs and singles 45 rpm. on a Thorens TD 166 BC turntable with a Goldring 1006 MM cartridge. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : una delle colonne sonore che preferisco. Tutto gira intorno al tema principale che con alcune variazioni occupa 6 tracce sulle complessive 10. Il tema nella sua prima versione (a1) è caratterizzato da brevi ma eccitanti suoni di Hammond che aprono la strada all'orchestra ben coadiuvata da efficaci fraseggi della batteria e dal fischio di Alessandroni. In "Masquerade" (a5) l'orchestra è completamente assente lasciando così maggior campo all'organo Hammond di Antonello Vannucchi come al fischio di Alessandroni. Qui e là si possono avvertire sapori funky. Pianoforte e fischio nella versione dal ritmo più blando: "Surrender" (b2) e "Final" (b5) con orchestra, fischio, Hammond, quasi un saluto allegro all'ascoltatore. "Beat for a Nun" (a2) con un solenne suono dell'organo che poi si stempera e si vivacizza un pò. "We'll Keep Trying" (a4) è una bella ballata in Inglese cantata da Lydia MacDonald. Infine "Love is a Woman" (b1), tema romantico caratterizzato da intensi e sensuali vocalizzi della bravissima Edda Dell'Orso.

I titoli dei dieci brani possono esser letti guardando il retrocopertina raffigurato nella scansione n° 2.

Notes : one of my favorite soundtracks. Everything revolves around the main theme which with some variations takes up 6 tracks on a total of 10. The theme in its first version (a1) is characterized by short but exciting sound of Hammond that open the way to the orchestra well supported by an effective drumming and by the whistle of Alessandroni. In "Masquerade" (a5) the orchestra is completely absent leaving greater field at the Hammond organ of Antonello Vannucchi as well as at the Alessandroni's whistle. Here and there you can feel funky flavors. Piano and whistle in the version from the slower development: "Surrender" (b2) and "Final" (b5) with orchestra, whistle, Hammond, almost a cheerful greeting to the listener. "Beat for a Nun" (a2) has an organ solemn sound which then melts and livens up a bit. "We'll Keep Trying" (a4) is a lovely ballad in English sung by Lydia MacDonald. Finally, "Love is a Woman" (b1), a romantic theme characterized by intense and sensual vocalizations of the exceptionally gifted Edda Dell'Orso.
