ASD 380 DVORAK New World KEMPE Berlin WHITE GOLD UK EMI HMV STEREO 1st
Dvorak, Symphony No.5 in E minor, Op.95 "From The New World".
Rudolf Kempe and The Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.UK pressed EMI HMV stereo LP, ASD 380.
Earliest white and gold label issue.
Vinyl is visually in strong EX condition. Close inspection reveals some light spider trail marks around the spindle areas, but not excessively so. At cursory glance the playing surfaces appear glossy and free of any marks. Close inspection with a magnifying glass reveals some very fine superficial hairlines indicative of over-zealous cleaning rather than poor handling and just another couple of small scuff marks.
Playback is on the whole bright and clean and the LP is not groove damaged or distorted. The surfaces are underlyingly quiet. However, there are some instances of tickiness. These are low level and there are no loud clicks or ticks. These areas are small in number and affect no more than 5% of total playing area, with the majority being concentrated to the first few opening bars.
The LP still provides a very comfortable listening experience, and although one is occasionally aware of background noise it is neither loud enough nor prolonged enough to be of serious detriment.
Labels are clean and undefaced.
Original inner sleeve is in clean and complete condition, although I think that a poly inner liner may have been removed.
External sleeve close to EX with no structural damage. Minor chipping of laminate to edges, some age/handling toning to rear panel.
