THE ATLANTA BLUES
1966 LP
This 1966 compilation was the work of Samuel Charters who was working hard to make some rare and important music from the 1920s and ‘30s available outside of the original, and quite rare 78rpm pressings. These albums were run up in very small pressings, and provided the materials that helped the blues revival of the 1960s, that resulted in transforming R&R into new forms rooted in the past. If you were to try to purchase these 78rpms in their previous release, it would take thousands of dollars.
This vintage blues LP is from the personal collection of blues researcher / writer Mack McCormick and is being sold to raise some needed funds for the Texas Musicians Museum. We appreciate any help in our mission to preserve music.
