Description

PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us.  Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable.  We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 18,000 positive feedback.   We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support.   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING:   USA ~ 1 LP = $4.00 Media Priority rates vary by area; please inquire.   All Canadian and Overseas shipping ~ Please inquire about rates. HIGHEST QUALITY VINYL PRESSING (see: AUDIOPHILE) Japan first pressing of the master plates pressed REPRISE label issue of the legendary "AFTER THE GOLD RUSH" Neil Young LP... This Japanese pressing blows away the USA issue sound wise = listen to the difference!!!

........................................................................................................

Superior supersonic Japanese vinyl with lyrics pages insert ....Japanese vinyl releases are premium quality pressings, much sought after by audiophiles and collectors alike. In the 1960s Toshiba pioneered top quality red vinyl pressings using their trademark ‘Ever-Clean’ process this utilised a special ingredient intended to prevent the build-up of static electricity on the vinyl. Japanese pressings are synonymous with quality - the vinyl shines like no other vinyl - everything about their releases feels special. When US audiophile label Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab first released their series of high quality pressings the records were manufactured in Japan. The sonic quality of Japanese pressings is considered to be among the best in the world and, in addition, they are beautifully presented, their covers usually printed on better quality heavy stock paper and often including a bonus lyric insert with dual language Japanese & English text. This is a NICE collectible that is not getting any easier to find...future investment item....

***Includes the all important original outer "OBI" strip to the pressing...

"After The Gold Rush" is so warm with an ernest feeling, it's sort of like an older wise friend entertaining on his guitar as the sun goes down on the farm. The style here is definitely folk oriented with hints of rural rock and just plain well written material sums it up well.

Still often looked upon as Young's magnum opus, After the Gold Rush is mostly stripped down acoustic rock, save for a couple of tracks, but it is done so well and the poignant lyrics go perfectly with the music.

The first side is absolute classic. It includes some of Young's most well known, and best tracks, which include the opener "Tell Me Why", and the beautiful track "After The Gold Rush", which is the definition of a stripped down song (just a piano, and one of Young's best vocals). Others on the first side include the single from the album "Only Love Can Break Your Heart", plus the timeless fan favorite "Southern Man", which despite being on one of the most stripped down albums by Young, is a great rocker with some of his best distortion guitar extended soloing.

Side 2 includes the great "Oh, Lonesome Me", which opens the side. Some other favorites also include "Don't Let It Bring You Down" and the other rocker "When You Dance I Can Really Love", which bares a striking resemblence to another Neil Young classic in "Cinnamon Girl".

This is the perfect starting spot to get into Neil Young. It contains some of his best known tracks and there are enough diamonds in the rough to make this a true classic. Is it his best? That's hard to decide, but it is undoubtedly one of his true defining works, and is worthy of being in any collection.
