NEW 2014 GEMZLADY INFO PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING:
Please read the entire auction listing, regarding shipping costs (NEW postal rates went into effect in January 2014) for both domestic & international.
Some international customers continually force us to MODIFY our business practices due to their rude behavior, so lengthy explanations are necessary (if you do not understand English, use google translate). We begin our listings at the beginning of every month and end our listings around the 25th of that same month due to the eBay invoice policy. Our customers can buy as many records as they so choose during this time period and not pay for them until the auctions are over, however once the auctions are completed we ask you to pay in a timely fashion, within a 2-3 day time period. However, we encourage our international customers to buy 6 or more lps (as then the package is over 4 pounds). Then, we have to send the records via air priority, this includes a viable tracking number, and/or find a friend or relative who lives in the US and have the records sent to them, so when you or they visit they can bring them back to your country.
We do significant travel to find collections and it is time consuming to clean, listen, list and pack these records, we need at least 5 days at the end of every month to travel and prepare records for the next month’s auctions.
CUSTOMER SATISFACTION IS OUR PRIMARY GOAL. Meeting that goal, we ALWAYS will work with our customers on any concerns that arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before emailing us, you will immediately be a blocked bidder and have no further chance to acquire the rare TAS & CLASSICAL RECORDS we offer in our eBay auctions. We do not need extra work and it takes away from the hours we devote to listing records.
We mail our packages from our local Post Office (it is within walking distance) either the same day or one day after receiving payment and have no control over the mailed parcels. Therefore, overseas mail to some countries such as Italy, Russia, and France, has become extremely slow. Opening a dispute for slow customs handling is unacceptable, and will result in being a blocked bidder, unless you want to pay for registered or priority mail. We work VERY hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our nearly 12,000 TOTAL 100% positive feedbacks. When a single record sells internationally for over $75 it has to be sent with viable tracking either registered or priority

EILEEN FARRELL needs no introduction to anyone who loves great singing. There are, however, a few facts about this Connecticut-born artist of Irish extraction that throw light on her continued magnificent contributions to our musical pleasure. Eileen’s first teacher was her mother, and the parents traveled the vaudeville circuit as performers. When it became clear that the young girl had a voice of major potential, she studied with Merle Alcock, a favorite comprimaria mezzo at the Met, and later, with her principal teacher, Eleanor Mclellan. Radio provided the first major opportunity, and the soprano was heard on CBS in the chorus, later as featured singer on “Song Of The Centuries.” She sang everything from Bach to Gershwin for seven years on her own CBS radio show, “Eileen Farrell Presents.”
I remember first being stunned by the awesome power and beauty of the Farrell voice when she sang Wagner during a CBS Symphony concert under Bernard Herrmann. “Serious” critics first discovered her as an incomparable Marie in Alban Berg’s Wozzeck in 1950 with the New York Philharmonic under Dimitri Mitropoulos. Happily, that performance was recorded, as were highlights from a wildly acclaimed 1955 Medea by Cherubini. Farrell and the Philharmonic also joined forces to become the first classical artists to conquer Broadway in an historic engagement at the Roxy Theater.
Staged opera claimed an important part of Farrell’s career beginning with a 1956 San Francisco Opera debut as Leonora in Verdi’s Il Trovatore, and the title role in La Gioconda by Ponchielli with Chicago Lyric Opera the next season. The Metropolitan Opera finally claimed Farrell for some 44 performances at home and on the road starting in 1960. I was one of the most fanatic screamers at her sudden “farewell” performance in Giordano’s Andrea Chenier.
Farrell also toured with the Bach Aria Group, and recorded the Soundtrack for “Interrupted Melody,” Hollywood’s heroic story of soprano Marjorie Lawrence. Opera concerts with Leonard Bernstein and many other major maestri brightened the Farrell career , but she never lost her early enthusiasm for the singular American art form--the classic songs of our own popular music. Following the release of “Eileen Farrell Sings Harold Arlen,” we renewed an acquaintance of many years. She seems freer and happier than I have ever known her, and the voice is as gorgeous as ever, “singing what I damned well please!” Happily for us, that includes this newest collection of the art of Eileen Farrell, who remains in person as comfortable as an old shoe (or the bunny slippers she wore when I last saw her), but who, in performance, dazzles like the most brilliant diamond. Her art is as multi-faceted as the finest jewel, and she remains an authentic American treasure.

IINTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS , IT IS $20 PER LP AND ADD $5-4 ADDITIONAL PER LPA SPECIAL NOTE REGARDING RECORDS-THE SMALL PRINT
Unless you buy a vinyl record that is SEALED, or in NEAR-MINT condition, there will always be some type of surface sounds, or background noise, known as pops and crackling.
If the LP has been played a couple of times, it can never be perfect. This is especially noticeable in classical records, which have quiet passages.
I know there is software that you can use to clean up your records to record on CDs, if you so choose.
You are buying vinyl LPs because they sound better than CDs, however the pops and crackling come with an LP.
Ratings and Definitions of LP Conditions in order to avoid confusion:
ALL TAS RECORDS ARE LISTENED TO ON MY EQUIPMENT WHICH IS A HIGH END TECHNICS TURNTABLE & CARTRIDGE WITH A SANSUI AMP. I DO TRY TO LISTEN TO SECTIONS OF ALL RECORDS, BUT SOMETIMES THEY ARE VISUALLY GRADED IF THEY LOOK REALLY CLEAN.
Mint (M). Absolutely perfect in every way. Never been played or still sealed. I use this rating very sparingly – Cover must be in the shrink wrap for this grade. Some promo copies can get this grade since they originally were never in shrink wrap.
Near Mint (NM). LP cover, inserts, e.g., lyrics sleeves, posters, promo cards, have no creases, folds, seam splits or other noticeable flaws. LP shows hardly any signs that it ever has been played or it has been treated with great respect, cover can be in shrink wrap unless it is a promo copy.
Very Good Plus Plus (VG++). This LP may show some signs that it was played a few times or many times but the LP was treated with respect. LP surface may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches/hairlines that do not affect the overall listening experience. The cover may have some ring/spine wear and discoloration. Inner sleeves/booklets may have some slight wear. The LP cover may have also a cut-out hole, corner indentation not disturbing the overall condition of the LP itself. Can have a sticker or label attached if it is a promo copy. There will be pops and crackling in the quiet sections.
Very Good Plus(VG+). Conditions as described in VG++ may be found in a more pronounced way on LP for this rating. Surface noise may be evident upon playing, especially in soft and other passages, but not overpowering the music. Wear may be noticeable. Scratches may affect the sound in places. The cover and the labels may show some writing, or have stickers or residue attached.
Very Good (VG). LP in Very Good condition will have surface noise and scratches and it might have one skip, which will be noted in the description. The cover or sleeve may have seam splits, (however archival transparent tape will be used to fix the seam).
Good (G). I WILL NOT SELL A RECORD IN THIS CONDITION.
Also, there will be grading which is in between like VG to VG+ as cover might be one grade and record another.
