Agnostic Front - Cause For Alarm LP. 2nd 1986 Pressing. Combat Core. N.Y.H.C. Hardcore Punk . Condition is Used. Shipped with USPS Media Mail.
I had always assumed that this was the first pressing because I bought it in 1986 but according to Discogs the 1st pressing has the grey camo labels and this is the 2nd pressing. This version has full "Combat Core" name at top of labels and no bar code on the back cover. It does have the Important logo at the bottom right of the back cover. There is a typo on the disc's labels on all 2nd pressing copies that I have seen. It reads "STERO" instead of "STEREO" There may be some 2nd pressing copies that have the corrected label but I have never seen one.
Run-out groove (Side A): A-> CC-8049-A MASTERING BY FRANKFORD/WAYNE NEW YORK ¢ Run-out groove (Side B): B-> CC-8049-B-RE The record has a good deal of scratches and smudges but nearly all appear to be Light and probably nothing bad enough to cause a skip or disturb the listening too much. It's possible that a couple of the smaller scratches could be a bit more significant. Therefore there may be a few pops and clicks here and there. Probably not anything too bad though. Unfortunately, I can't grade this record better than G++ because it looks kind of scuffed up, but it likely plays closer to VG. The lyric insert is in great shape. This type of insert often has seam splits on all 3 closed sides but this one only has one, 2 inch split on the bottom edge. The other sides are still good. There are some overall Very Light wear from handling and a couple slight crinkles near the opening edge and some faint scratches. Overall it still looks great and easily rates VG+ The cover, like the record, has a bit of wear and tear. There is Moderate ring wear on front and back. It is mostly visible at the top and bottom middle area on the front, but on the back the entire ring is visible. There are no bends and the usual handful of veins near the top and left edges are all short. (under an inch.) All 4 corners have Moderate to Severe wear at the tips. All the edges have what I would call Severe shelf wear. On the Spine edge all the titles are completely worn off and the raw under cardboard is exposed for the entire length of that edge. (see pictures) The top and bottom edges have a similar story, although not as severe. Cover still looks pretty good from the front and back but because of the Severe wear on the edges I can't grade it better than G+
Grades that I use are G-, G, G+, G++, G+++, VG, VG+, VG++, VG+++/EX, NM. I won't be describing anything as M or MINT unless it is unopened and the packaging is completely unblemished. Records that have never been played but HAVE been opened, will be described as Near Mint or NM. These are the adjectives that I use when describing damage: Very Light, Light, Moderate, Severe, Catastrophic. To describe damage in between those ranks I say things like: "Moderate leaning towards Severe," "Moderate leaning towards light," or "In between Light and Moderate"...just for example.
