Gallery concert 1973Original OZ 1st press LP released in 1973 on Cumquat Records. Cat: CQR 12-03.
In 1973, The Alan Lee Quartet participated in a series of ground-breaking jazz concerts in Melbourne's Victorian Art Gallery. Alan, one of the real natural talents and innovators of Australian Jazz, drawing inspiration from the great composers of the 20th Century, adapted works by Stravinsky, Faure, Rodrigo, Villa-Llobos and Cantaloube for his small jazz ensemble. His sensitive treatment of these great masterpieces not only did them justice, they also brought these important works to the attention of a new generation.

Tracks: Sicilienne/ Dance of the adolescents/ Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5/ Sketch/ Adagio from concierto de aranjuez/ Pavane/ Bailero from Songs of the Auvergne.There are are few light spindle marks and tiny marks on labels. Record has a few light scuff marks and is in Excellent condition. Cover has a water mark on back bottom edge, light ring wear, some light marks, and a light crease mark on bottom right corner. Cover is in VG+ condition.

Wrapping method: All records are sent in stiff cardboard mailers then wrapped in brown paper and sealed around edges with brown packaging tape. Records are taken out of sleeve to avoid seam splits and ring wear.
Post methods within Australia: All records are posted via Australia Post. Within Australia all items come with a tracking number.
Post method for overseas: All parcels are sent via Australia Post and are sent on a standard airmail service. There are no tracking numbers on these items. If you require a tracking number the item will have to be sent as an insured item which incurs a further postage fee.
