This release was manufactured at the Monarch Records pressing plant as indicated in the matrix sequence in the runout wax, of the stamp "MR". It is also a first issue copy with the original Yellow label and the address at the bottom of the label, "98 North Avalon, Memphis USA".
Most often you will see listed in eBay and elsewhere, the much later reissue (STX-4132) when STAX was acquired by Fantasy and with the Berkeley, CA address on the label. These Yellow label first issues are considerably less common and are seen much less frequently for sale here and elsewhere
LP: (Graded) Near Mint Minus, according to Goldmine record grading definitions. This record grades as an LP that appears to either have been handled or played on a small number of occasions only in the most cautious manner possible but picked up only just a few very small and minor surface sleeve scuffs (not scratches) somewhere along the way.
The plating surfaces retain their as new glossiness and the labels are in outstanding shape with no spindle trails and just a very small spot on the Side B label (1/8") where a bit of the top layer paper is missing (please see photo in gallery). The record is also exceptionally clean and turntable ready.
Play Graded: Near Mint - This LP, in terms of absence of surface noise, is close within the range of quietness of a Compact Disc. So, on the below linear graph, the in between tracks rating is 9.7 or better and during song selections, is 9.8 or better. The quietness of digital and the richness of analog. The sonics, in terms of clarity, dynamics, imaging, balance and definition, are magnificent.
Cover: (Graded) Very Good Plus - light degree of shelfwear. Has some wrinkling / waviness on the lower Right front corner margin and a cutout clipped corner (see photo details in gallery). All solid seams and fully legible spine printing. Retains original issue innersleeve.
