Description

Aluminum radio transcription records US NAVY DAY 1936 Standley Hepburn WJZ rare Shipping Info   Description Rare and unique set of four 12" aluminum records - U.S. NAVY DAY - OCT. 27, 1936 - NEW YORK RADIO STATION WJZ - AUDIO-SCRIPTION - ELECTRICAL BROADCAST TRANSCRIPTION - featuring Admiral W. H. STANDLEY, Rear Admiral J. DOWNES and Rear Admiral (ARTHUR JEPY) HEPBURN. WJZ was New York's first radio station, operating from 1921 to 1953. The records are 2-sided, but have labels on only one side of each. Still with the original sleeves, each of which has a yellow Audio- Scriptions label. Rare in any condition.

Condition: VG- (all records have minor-to-moderate scuffing and some light scratches; some of the scratches I can feel with a thumbnail; one of the handwritten labels has two chips; the sleeves have some minor wear to the labels, no splitting).

(Military History, United States Navy, Speeches, Spoken Word, Narration, Radio, Celebration, Navy Day, NY, Inter-war Period, Great Depression, Aluminum, Metal, Transcriptions, 1930's, Albums, LPs, Vintage Records, Memorabilia, Collectibles).

Shipping Info      PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: All items are very well-packed for shipment and always include tracking numbers. Non-media items have the shipping cost noted in the auction, but we offer FREE SHIPPING TO U.S. CUSTOMERS ON ALL MEDIA ITEMS - that means that the auction price includes your shipping costs - this free shipping applies to books & magazines (price includes $3-$5 media mail shipping), postcards, photos, booklets & pamphlets (price includes $1.50-$3, 1st class or media mail shipping), record albums (7"s/45s include $3.00 1st class shipping; 10" and LPs include $3-$5 media mail shipping), cassettes, reel tapes, and CDs (includes $2 to $4, 1st class or mm).
REGARDING IMAGE QUALITY: Some of our older listings have images of poor quality; a few months ago Ebay changed their image size policies, and I was forced to automatically enlarge the images for all of last years' remaining items, which caused them to be grainy and blurry.
INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS - WE SHIP WORLDWIDE - please contact me prior to bidding so I can determine Airmail shipping rates for you, and we are always happy to combine multiple items.

WE NEVER USE STOCK PHOTOS - all images are of actual items. WE ALMOST ALWAYS USE MULTIPLE IMAGES. We grade all items conservatively, and when grading record albums we follow the Goldmine Record Guide. Please see our other Ebay auctions for many used, odd, rare and collectible books and records, paper & ephemera, and more. Thank you!
