Ampex Grand Master tape.
The tape was tested and it sounded good!
This performance of GD was recorded here in San Francisco by GD sound engineer Owsley Stanley.
This is clearly stated in before the show when a man speaks to the audience and clearly states that the show will be recorded by Owsley Stanley III and thanks him for that.

The sound quality is very good considering the live performance.
To my ear it lacks a bit of high frequencies but maybe it's just me or maybe this is how they recorded back then...
The recording is made using 3.3/4 ips speed. I purchased this tape long ago here in San Francisco and was told that it came from people who where close to GD circle.
