Description
Up for Bid is "The Swimming Hour," a 2009 Reissue of a 2001 Album by Andrew Bird's Bowl of Fire. This is a special reissue of an album from earlier in Bird's career after his popularity increased in the mid-2000's.
This 2-LP reissue has a couple of interesting features: First, the cover art is a clever illustration based on the original album's photographic cover. The illustration style continues into smaller images inside the gatefold/lyrics. Secondly, even though this is a set of 2 12" records, the album is intended to be played at 45 rpm rather than 33 1/3. My understanding is that this is done for greater sound fidelity. It does sound really good.
The album cover itself has a couple of bumped corners (oops) which I have included in the photos for your reference. Otherwise, condition of the whole set is very, very nice. I would say the records themselves especially are like new.
This album, like all my auction items, comes from my personal collection in my clean, non-smoking home.
Please note that while I am offering multiple shipping options on this auction, I cannot guarantee that items shipped via USPS Media Mail will arrive before the Christmas holiday.
