Description
Angel Records original mono recording 35280, earliest red label disc pressed in the UK by EMI. Does not have the original jacket. The record comes in a plain white jacket that has a copy of the original artwork pasted on the front. Very presentable, see pics. Made at the same factory in England, with the same stampers, as the mega-rare and expensive 33CX 1286. Matrix and stamper numbers are XAX 731-1N and XAX 744-1N, the earliest stampers.
Johanna Martzy plays the J. S. Bach Sonata No. 1 for solo violin in G minor, BWV 1001, and the Partita No. 1 in B minor, BWV 1002.
Disc VG++, has some faint sleeve scuffs. No spindle wear. Plays nicely, a few tics in track one on side 2, otherwise very nice, with great sound. Play-graded all the way through with a mono cartridge. Small piece of tape on the side one label. The owner put it on all of his records to easily identify the side. I'm sure it could be removed with care, but I leave that up to the buyer.
