A highly influential figure in the English folk music revival being a source of songs and musical inspiration for others such as A.L. Lloyd Bert Jansch Jimmy Page The Watersons June Tabor Sandy Denny Richard Thompson and Maddy Prior. This is one of the precious few albums she left to history as she never really bothered about the traditional views of success and fame preferring instead to play a constant series of small clubs throughout her career. By all accounts a determined woman who knew what she wanted from life and pop star was not a part of it.

To those in the know she has continued to influence to this very day and this is one of the many reasons that her all too few studio recordings are treated like the rare jewels they are.

This copy is a stunner.

Condition:

The sleeve is in stunning condition with laminate creasing at an absolute minimum and the unlaminated reverse showing almost no sign of its nearly fifty years on this Earth. There is a vintage Dobells sticker on the reverse which has been partially peeled with no impact to the sleeve below in fact its only the price of £3.75 which alerts one to the age of this wonderful example!

The vinyl was barely (if at all) played during its lifetime and the labels can certainly attest to this with only one faint whispy mark almost visible. The vinyl retains a wonderful deep sheen and is a testament to Great British pressing technology of the early Seventies. There is an unfortunate mark to the beginning of Side 2 which results in a few ticks & clicks at the beginning of the first track a real shame as the rest of the album would otherwise merit a Near Mint; with such a bare performance as the one delivered here any and every imperfection would be highlighted however playtesting revealed a superb warm & importantly clear reproduction of this Folk masterpiece.
