Description
This lovely LP edition of Vladimir Horowitz' "The Studio Recordings - New York 1985" has been preserved in mint condition and has never been played. It has been signed by Horowitz himself in the upper left-hand corner. Excellent placement, right on top of the yellow Deutsche Grammophon placard. The record is a digital recording and features lovely full-size photos of the maestro himself along with exceptional and amusing liner notes. I happened to see Mr. Horowitz himself while he and I were on the SUBWAY in NYC. This was in 1984. He was sitting alone and minding his own business and I kept looking at him but I was too shy to say anything. He was also a fellow who looked alot like several other celebrities so I wasn't sure it was Horowitz or just an old man! But finally we made eye contact and he winked at me, saying nothing! A fanastic story. Anyway, the record is incredible. The tracks are as follows: Schumann's Kreisleriana, op. 16 Scarlatti's Sonata in B minor, K. 87 Scarlatti's Sonata in E major, K. 135 Liszt's Impromptu "Nocturne" in F# major Liszt's Valse Oubliee no. 1 Scriabin's Etude in D# minor, op. 8 no. 12 Schubert's Impromptu in B flat major, D 935 no. 3 Schubert's Military March in D flat major, D 733 no. 1 as arranged by Carl Tausig Recorded in New York at RCA Studio A in Sept. of 1985.
