Description
Prestige Bluesville 1074, “My Heart Struck Sorrow” with Brooks Berry and Scrapper Blackwell, from 1963. Original-label glossy vinyl has a number of sleeve scuffs but plays at NM with no significant background sound; it has no DG. Heavy laminated jacket is about VG+ with strong seams all around. There is laminate cracking and wear on two corners and slight wear on a third corner. Jacket back is basically clean with age toning and a bit of soiling; two song titles are circled in pen; there is a “Preview Copy” stamp. Songs are “My Man Is Studying Evil”, “Cold Blooded Murder”, “Blues and Trouble”, “Sweetest Apple on the Tree”, “Sun Burnt All My Cotton”, “’Bama Bound”, “Can’t Sleep for Dreaming”, “Life Ain’t Worth Living”, “Blues Is a Feeling”, “I’ve Had My Fun”, and “How Long”. As mentioned on the liner notes, though he lived a relatively long life, this is the last recording Scrapper Blackwell did before an untimely death. This is one of a set of original Bluesville LPs from several collections brought together for sale this week on eBay. Most are original DG copies in remarkable condition, and many are in the original shrink wrap. Shipping is $4.00 media mail, $8.00 priority mail within the continental U.S.; $18.00 regular airmail to the U.K., Europe, Japan, Korea, Australia, and New Zealand. Additional LPs in a single package are $1.00 additional within U.S. and Canada, $2.00 elsewhere. For overseas shipments, registered mail is strongly recommended at $11.75 extra. Many old records are practically antiques and should be treated that way. This LP will be packaged with the record inside an inner sleeve but outside the jacket; both are placed inside a sealed outer sleeve and shipped inside a special oversized handcrafted mailer with padding on all sides. It is designed thick enough not to be bent in transit and strong enough to withstand a drop from a second-story window. More than two LPs together may be mailed inside a heavy Bags Unlimited pizza-style box. Your LP should arrive in the same condition as on the day it was shipped. All used LPs are play-graded on a VPI turntable with Audioquest tonearm and Grado cartridge.
