The Beatles - 'The Beatles 1963 Christmas Record'. LYN 492.
The Beatles first 1963 UK Fan Club flexi disc Christmas record. Released on the 6th December 1963, this is one of the finest examples of this rare disc I have ever seen. Offered here in wonderful EXCELLENT/EXCELLENT+ condition. It also comes complete with the original mailing envelope.
These were never available to buy in either stores or by mail order but were distributed free to fully paid up members of the UK Beatles Fan Club in 1963. The fan club in 1963 had relatively small membership numbers when this first disc was initially given away. Once fans found out about the free disc coming out from the fan club, more and more people applied. Consequently, the Fan Club was unprepared for all the extra subscriptions it received, so in addition to the Christmas flexis it mailed out in December 1963, they also made a complete extra run of the flexi disks without the rare newsletter sleeves (to save time), which were mailed out in February 1964.
The total number of 1963 Christmas flexis made, both with and without sleeves was only 25,000 copies. The number of initial 1963 flexi discs WITH the cover would have been be far, far fewer. Probably just a few thousand. This record is from the 1963 first initial run of flexi discs produced. It comes complete with the original cover which also doubles up as the 'National newsletter No.2'.
The vinyl is in EXCELLENT/EXCELLENT+ condition. LOOKS NEAR PEFECT.
The label is in MINT- condition.
The sleeve is in EXCELLENT condition. One very, very small piece missing from the rear otherwise would be near perfect.
The mailing envelope is in WORN condition. Seems are split at both edges.
