After 20 years of collecting, the time has come for me to sell my Beatles collection and let other collectors appreciate some of the records and memorabilia I've accumilated over the years. Please be aware that all records are VISUALLY graded only - all grades are given based on how they appear under my desk lamp - since I do not own a record player. I cannot guarantee that discs will be click and skip free, although any marks and scratches that might possibly cause such problems will be highlighted clearly in the description.

This auction is for a rare, authentic mono copy of the American Beatles LP 'Introducing the Beatles' on the rainbow-band Brackets Logo label.

The story behind this LP is very interesting. I highly recommend you read up on it at its Wikipedia article.

Introducing the Beatles is one of the most counterfeited LPs of all time. However, this is a 100% authentic, genuine pressing. Nearly every fake lists the Version 1 songs whilst nearly every genuine copy lists the version 2 songs. Nearly every fake was printed as stereo whereas most mono copies are genuine. This copy has the right colour hue, it has George's shadow, it has the 1/4" internal overflaps at the top and bottom of the mouth (on fakes this overflap is much longer) and the back passes the 'Honey' test (fakes have a chunk of the H in Honey missing). The deadwax on the record is less than 1" thick and carries the 'Audiomatrix' machine stamp (fakes have a deadwax larger than 1" and nearly all do not have this stamp) and the credit 'The Beatles' is above the spindlehole. On every fake this credit is below the spindlehole!

This particular pressing, based on it's label style, was printed at Southern Plastics Inc. in Tennessee It's Spizer / Cox indentification number is VJ 1062 (2).MR2C.

Looking okay for its age (50 years now!) and holding up well but has some light, general wear and tear. Usually these covers turn up pretty trashed as they're pretty fragile, especially on the seams. The front cover hs looking good with a good colour and a little wear, mostly along the bottom. There's a very light wavyness, like the slick is not adhered to the cardboard underneath in places. Corners are slightly rounded with a little wear around the edges. The back cover has yellowed slightly and has some light wear and rubbing. There's also some light dirt buildup and brown spotting over the white back slick. It's also torn slightly at the top right as you can see in the above photo. Top seam is holding but has a few wrinkles and the paper has torn in the middle. Bottom seam is showing more paper wear with a split beginning to appear at the mouth edge. Spine is holding okay with no real paper tearing or splitting and with the text mostly legible - there's a little rubbing over the paprt on INTRODUCING which has taken off the start of the word. The playing surface has a lovely shine to it and a fair amount of light, faint scuffing in places. There are some slightly heavier looking scuffs and marks On side 1, at 10 o'clock, 12 o'clock, 1 o'clock and 2 o'clock there are these light surface scratches that I can't feel under the fingernail, but which are visible. On side 2, at 10 o'clock in the closing track there's a small 3mm ish mark that's feelable under the fingernail. At 8 o'clock there's a long surface scratch that runs from the middle of track 1 into the deadwax. I can't feel it under the fingernail but it's visible. The rest is just light, faint scuffmarks in places. Overall, the disc isn't looking too bad!

The labels are looking showing some age. The silver text is bright and solid but there's some light wear on each label and around the centrehole. There's some light spotting over the label, too.
