This auction is for a rare, authentic mono copy of the American Beatles LP 'Introducing the Beatles' on the all-black 'Block' logo label.

The story behind this LP is very interesting. I highly recommend you read up on it at its Wikipedia article.

Introducing the Beatles is one of the most counterfeited LPs of all time. However, this is a 100% authentic, genuine pressing. Nearly every fake lists the Version 1 songs whilst nearly every genuine copy lists the version 2 songs. Nearly every fake was printed as stereo whereas most mono copies are genuine. This copy has the right colour hue, it has George's shadow, it has the 1/4" internal overflaps at the top and bottom of the mouth (on fakes this overflap is much longer) and the back passes the 'Honey' test (fakes have a chunk of the H in Honey missing). The deadwax on the record is less than 1" thick (fakes have a deadwax larger than 1") and the credit 'The Beatles' is above the spindlehole. On every fake this credit is below the spindlehole!

This particular pressing was produced at the Monarch record Manufacturing Company in California.

If there are any other questions you wish to ask about this album then please feel free to ask away!

The American covers are pretty fragile and usually turn up in a pretty bad shape. This copy, however, is looking really nice! The front cover has a little wear along the bottom, top and over the image of the group, but has a nice, rich colour. Top and bottom seams are holding tightly. The paper has worn and torn in places, more on the bottom than on the top, but have no splitting. The spine is looking great with no real paper wear or tearing, and with no splitting at all. The spine print is fully legible. The back has yellowed everso slightly but is still pretty pale with just a light touch of browning on the edges and some light wear spotting. There's a white sticker on the top left that appears to be covering a name (Armstrong)? Funnily enough, it appears that a stereo slick was used for the front as I can see the Stereophonic bar just peeping from underneath the back slick - I've taken a photo and enhanced it to try and show it. Overall, a nice, solid condition cover with a little wear.   Disc (Visually Graded Only!!) : VG+/EX-

The playing surface has a lovely clear, crisp shine to it! There's some light scuffing in places along with a few slightly heavier looking marks, scuffs and the like that bring the grading down a little, but overall the disc is looking really bright!

The labels are looking clean with no fading of the silver text. There's just a few very light, solitary spindlemarks and a touch of whitening around the centrehole.. 'Conrad' has been written in very faint lettering on the side 1 label at 2 o'clock. It's also written at the top of the side 2 label, but this is very faint and barely readable.
