BEATLES
1964 PICTURE SLEEVE

Right after the Beatles first American tour, there was quite a buzz about the group. Vee Jay records was looking at the calendar and saw that their limited contract to make what few Beatles records they could, was going to expire. Time to really do something special.

When preparing for the next single “Do You Want To Know A Secret” they designed this sleeve to go with the October 1964 release. The single sleeve with “We Wish You A Merry Christmas And A Happy New Year” was made available for advance orders, and it’s said that over 200,000 were ordered and shipped. It remains one of the Beatles most popular US sleeves.

If the images of the Beatles look familiar, it’s the same images as on the 12” x 24” poster that came with their Beatles vs. the Four Seasons album a few months earlier.

CONDITION: SLEEVE is VG++ with NO writing, no splits or tears.
