This aucton is for an exceptionally rare and impossible to find 4th press copy of the Beatles single Please Please Me / Ask Me Why. This copy is on the black Parlophone label and features the 'Sold in UK' statement, and has ALL CAPS rimtext!
This single was originally released at the beginning of 1963 and was a big hit, but by the time the hastily recorded debut album was released with the same name, the single soon stopped selling and dropped out of the charts. Both of the songs that featured on this single were also available to listen to on the album so therefore there was no point at all in buying another copy of the single Because of this, it is pretty much impossible to find any copies of this single other than the first three presses.
This copy however, is the mega rare 4th pressing! It is from even later and features the 'Sold in UK' statement and ALL CAP rimtext! The label style and company sleeve date this pressing to mid 1965. By this time the Beatles were into the Help era and this particular single would only have been available to buy via special order. Because of this, and because the songs were already available to listen to on the Please Please Me album, pretty much zero copies of this single ever turn up!
This is an incredibly rare opportunity to be able to add this single to your collection. Due to how few were ever manufactured back in 1965 they just never come up for sale today! A great opportunity to add this mega rare single to your collection!
I also have a copy of Love Me Do up for sale, which also features the 'Sold in UK' statement and ALL CAPS rimtext!

This company sleeve is original to this single and helps date this particular pressing to mid '65. The sleeve is looking pretty nice and clean with a little, light usual damage and creasing you usually find on these fragile sleeves. The front is looking nice with just a little light creasing and disc impression. The seams are a little worn but are all holding up nicely with no splits. There's a small tear in the middle window on the back as you can see in the photo above. The original owner's name Angela Beighton has been written in small letters in blue biro at the top right corner along with Please Please Me. Overall, looking nice! Disc (Visually Graded Only!!) : EX
The playing surface has a very clean, crisp shine to it and the playing surface just has some light, faint scuffs here and there. This disc is in a pheomenal condition for its age - usually these turn up (when they do) in a pretty rough state. This copy, however, is looking incredible!
.
The labels are looking beautiful with solid, bright silver text and no rubbing, wear, tears, stickers etc. The PPM side has just one, very faint, solitary little spindlemark whereas the AMW label has a fair amount. Again, these are very light and faint. Both sides have just a very faint touch of whitening around the centrehole. Overall the labels are looking great!!!

All records have been visually graded under a strong, 125W natural light desk lamp.
