This auction is for an original mono 1st press copy of the legendary Beatles LP 'Sgt. Peppers' on the yellow / black Parlophone label.
... The Cover : VG+
The cover is holding up nicely for its age but is showing some light, general wear and tear. The front seems o have lost some of its colour and there's a very little dirt buildup and rubbing on the laminate along with some light disc impression. Little creases around the edges. Top seam is holding fine. Bottom seam, again, is holding with a little wear in spots but does have a very small tear at the mouth edge that looks to be just under 1cm long. Spine has a bit of wear and creasing but has no splits or tears. Back cover, again, has some light dirt and rubbing on the laminate. There's some little creases and a very light disc impression. Inner gatefold looks immaculate with rich colours, rich, thick, clean laminate and just a few little creases running onto the overflaps at the top. Insert: EX+/NM-
The original, dark green insert (later ones were light green) is included and is looking really, really nice! Beautiful, rich colours, no creasing and no tears or wear.
. Disc (Visually Graded Only!!) : VG
The playing surface has a nice, crisp shine to it but there are some smudges and quite a fair amount of light, faint little scuffs along with a some slightly heavier looking scuffs and marks. Nothing serious or deep, however, that I can see. Would probably benefit for a professional clean.
.
The labels are clean with bright, silver text and no writing, tears or anything. There's some light spindlewear and a touch of whitening around the centrehole. But overall the labels are looking pretty good!
.
All records have been visually graded under a strong, 125W natural light desk lamp.
