Well, this is it folks. This is my last week of selling the big stuff on eBay! It's been a great 6 months and I hope there have been gaps in your collection that have now been filled. This week is my final push of some of the best records and memorabilia I have! Thank you all so much for following me!

Please be aware that all records are VISUALLY graded only - all grades are given based on how they appear under my desk lamp - since I do not own a record player. I cannot guarantee that discs will be click and skip free, although any marks and scratches that might possibly cause such problems will be highlighted clearly in the description.

This auction is for a very rare, original top-opening Mono 1st pressing of the Beatles legendary LP 'The Beatles', otherwise known as the White Album.

Comes complete with it's original black inners, poster and four photos. Also included is the very rare and seldom seen photo spacer sheet!!

This was the last original Beatles' album to have a full mono mix (Yellow Submarine was just a stereo fold-down into mono). Subsequantly most of the tracks have both subtle and blatant differences to their stereo counterparts. A website that details some of these differences can be found HERE. Beatle completists love the mono white album because of these differences, and as the mono pressing sold so poorly back in 1968 demand for them today is extremely high!

By 1968 mono was pretty much a dead format. Stereo records coming down in price to be the same as their mono counterparts along with the price of stereo record players drastically dropping meant that everybody bought stereo and the mono copies were left on the shelf. Mono sales dropped so much that by 1969 it was discontinued completely as a format across all labels. Because of this, stereo copies of this album far outsold the mono copies!

A beautiful high grade copy of this very rare and extremely collectible album!

The top-opening cover is holding up beautifully for its age! The cover has creamed a little but then pretty much all of them have over the decades. The front is gorgeously clean with zero dirt buildup on the laminate which has a lovely, sharp, thick shine that only the original laminate can give! There's just a little light creasing around the edges. The exdes still look pretty sharp and the mouth opening is still remarkably sharp. The majority of copies have a worn opening from years of play. There's a very small knock on the top left corner. The bottom and side seams are holding perfectly with no splits, wear or anything at all! The spine has folded over in the middle as you can see in the photo above, but all the print is legible and there's no laminate creacking or any splits or tears of any kind. The inner gatefold, again, has creamed a little but the laminate is gorgeous and completely free from any dirt buildup or anything. The text and the photos are sharp and overall the cover looks fantastic!   Inner Sleeves : EX++

Both original sugar paper black inner sleeves are included and are looking awesome! Both have just very light creasing but, overall, are looking very flat and clean. There's just a very light hint of wear on the openings at the top and the seams are all holding perfectly except for the bottom seam of one which has just a very tiny little split in the middle. The rest are holding fine with no problems at all. Top inners and very, very rarely seen like this!   Poster : EX+/NM-

The poster is holding perfectly and has pretty much no creasing and sits completely flat. The only blemish I can really see is there's a very small little tear in the paper at the top middle on the lyrics side. Overall, incredible poster!   Photos and Spacer : EX++

All four photos are in a fantastic condition with an incredible, rich colour to them. I've never seen the photos this colourful before! The photos are completely flat and free from any creases and the backs are free from browning. It looks like some of the colours have rubbed a little on each back as they have some very faint, little colour rubs - you can see them in the photos above. The grading would have been a solid NM but there are a couple of very small little blemishes on a couple of the photos which I'm not sure whether they're manufacturing blemishes or marks that have appeared since 1968. The George photo is probably the worst as there are two very fine little scratches just to the left of his chin. There are also a couple of other little scratches to the right of his face. The John one is almost entirely unscatched with just some very, very fine, light little horizontal scuffs. The McCartney one has this same very light, fine horizontal scuffs. Ringo's has this but has it vertical and also has a red blemish to the right of him that, I'm sure, was a manufacturing error. You'll see it in the photo above. Like I say, I'm not sure if these are manufacturing marks but I felt I should mention them. These marks are barely, barely visible and only just noticeable under my desk lamp. The photos are, overall, looking really good. Like I say, these are the most colourful white album photos I think I've ever seen! Very vivid, natural colours!

The photo spacer was used to protect the photos in the sleeve and are incredibly hard to find these days. The vast majority were thrown away when fans bought the album as it was just there for protection. It's like when you open something that's sealed in cellophane. It's just there for protection and you throw it away when you've opened the package as it has pretty much no use. The spacer here is looking really good and has a few little, light brown spots and a small crease in one of the corners. Other than that the spacer is looking great!

The playing surface has a lovely, crisp shine to it and, overall, is looking clean. There's just a little light, barely visible scuffing in a couple of places that bring this disc grade down slightly. Beautiful disc and so, so rarely seen like this!.

Disc 2 (Visually Graded Only!!) : EX+

Disc 2, again, has a sharp, crisp shine to it and a predominantly clean vinyl with just some very light, faint little scuffs in one or two places. On side 3 there's this light scuffing on the deadwax going from label to playing surface around the perimeter. Not sure what could have caused it but felt it needed mentioning.   Disc 1 Labels : NM-

The labels are looking exceptional with just a couple of very light, faint little spindlemarks that I can just about see under my desk lamp. Both labels are completely free from stickers, writing etc and have pretty much no whitening at all around the centrehole. Awesome labels!.
