1968 UK 1st *MONO* PRESSING No. 0190042
**EXCELLENT, 100% COMPLETE COPY & 1/G STAMPER**
This 1st UK MONO pressing is on the dark green Apple label: PMC 7067 & PMC 7068
All labels include the 'Sold in UK..' text but the disc 2 labels omit the 'An EMI Recording' statement.
The 'KT' tax/price is visible on the side 4 label.
Housed in a fully laminated, top-loading 'Garrod & Lofthouse' mono cover, numbered: No. 0190042
Complete with original die-cut matt-black inners, matt UK 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed poster, four 'thick card' colour photos & white paper photo spacer.
Matrix numbers: XEX 709-1, 710-1, 711-1, 712-1
Stamper numbers: 5/OM, 7/OL, 5/GDG, 1/G
Disc weights: 1. 151g 2. 156g
There are no spindle marks on the side 1 label and just 2 on side 2.
Visual: EXCELLENT PLUS
Both surfaces are in remarkably clean and bright & retain their 'as new' deep gloss shines with no dulling or groove-whitening to either side.
Close inspection directly under a halogen desk lamp reveals just a single 1cm non-feelable hairline on side 2 and some wispy inner-sleeve removal hairlines, but no further marks or wear.
Audio: EXCELLENT
Having listened carefully at volume, I am pleased to report that all tracks play without any significant or major signs of audible wear.
The only audible fault I could detect was some very faint background during some of the quieter passages, but no other significant signs of intereference elsewhere.
Just a few tiny spindle mark to each label suggesting less than 5 plays.
Visual: NEAR MINT
Both sides are pristine & 'as new' and appear in unmarked 'MINT' condition in strong daylight.
Apart form just a few barely visible inner-sleeve removal marks on side 4 directly under a halogen desk lamp, there is no futher traces of visible wear anywhere.
Audio: NEAR MINT
This disc has received just a few careful plays on top quality equipment and all tracks play 'as new' with no trace of any crackle, peak/groovewear distortion anywhere on any track.
Even the delicate introduction into 'Mother Nature's Son' is perfectly clean & clear and the easily worn innermost tracks on each side, play perfectly without any distortion or break up.
Hard to find a better sounding disc.
Cover: EXCELLENT
A clean & bright example which bears just some minor age-toning and light handling/storagewear, but no significant or major signs faults.
The laminate is complete and retains its high-gloss finish all-round with just a few light creases but no pitting, scuffs or other damage.
All corners are square with just a 5mm rub to the upper left, but all the top-opening edges are sharp with no tears or feathering.
The inside is unmarked and has clearly not been opened in many years.
The spine is clean and retains a full and unsplit laminate. All the text is covered & readable.
