Description
Please be aware that all records are VISUALLY graded only - all grades are given based on how they appear under my desk lamp - since I do not own a record player. I cannot guarantee that discs will be click and skip free, although any marks and scratches that might possibly cause such problems will be highlighted clearly in the description.

Extremely Rare MONO 1969 Issue with NO 'Sold in UK'!
On offer here is an incredibly rare 1969 MONO press of the Beatles UK LP 'A Hard Day's Night' on the Parlophone label.
This copy features the yellow / black Parlophone labels, but OMIT the 'Sold in UK' statement.
In mid 1969 the tax laws that required UK domestic presses to feature the 'Sold in the UK...' statement since 1964 were changed, and so this text on the label was removed. This happened literally just a short while before Parlophone deleted the Beatles mono back catalogue and changed the label style to the silver / black design.
By 1969 mono was a completely dead, obsolete format. The price of stereo record players and records coming right down meant that everybody bought stereo. By 1969 EMI completely ceased production of the mono back catalogue.
Not only this, but by 1969 everyone was buying Yellow Submarine and Abbey Road. Everybody already had a copy of A Hard Day's Night, and for those who were looking to replace their copy, they would have no doubt gone for the stereo copy instead of the mono.
Couple all of these together and you have a Beatles LP that nobody was buying on a format that was literally just about to be removed due to how non-existant sales were on a label style that was only available for a few short weeks. This all adds up to an incredibly rare and highly collectible LP!

Title A Hard Day's Night Year of Release 1969 Catalogue Number PMC 1230 Label Yellow / Black Parlophone with Gramophone rimtext and NO Sold in UK statement Tax Code on Disc - Sleeve Manufacturer Garrod and Lofthouse Side 1 Matrix Number XEX 481-3N Side 2 Matrix Number XEX 482-3N Side 1 Stampers 2 9 / MDT Side 2 Stampers 3 / ALR Sleeve Condition The sleeve is in EX- condition. The sleeve is holding tightly very nicely with no splits or tears, and with just light, usual wear and small creasing. Looking very clean all over - check out the photos below! Inner Sleeve Condition The sleeve is in VG condition. The original red inner sleeve is included. It's looking a little worn and there's a small tear and split in one of the seams, but is holding okay. This is the original red inner sleeve as on one side someone has written PMC 1230 and on the other, down the side, they've written "Hard Day's Night"£ and "Christmas 1969". Nice little piece of history there! Inserts Condition - Disc Condition(VISUALLY GRADED) The disc is in EX- condition. The playing surface has a nice shine to it and has some light, faint scuffmarks. Nothing nasty or serious looking. Label Condition The labels are in EX condition. The labels are clean with wonderfully bright silver text. There's some light spindlewear and a touch of whitening around the centrehole.
All records have been visually graded under a strong, 125W natural light desk lamp.

My Regarding Vinyl Grading:
MINT No true preowned disc can be mint. The highest I will ever grade a disc is NM+/M- if it looks untouched and unplayed, but the MINT description will only be for records I personally know have never been played (i.e. I personally bought from new) or for copies that are still sealed. NEAR MINT (NM) For discs that look near flawless and which may have just the slightest, barely visible little whispy marks here and there. EXCELLENT (EX) For discs that still retain a brilliant, clean shine but does have some light scuffs here and there. VERY GOOD (VG) For discs that still look clean and have a nice shine to them, but do have a fair amount of light scuffmarks and/or some light scratches. GOOD (G) For discs that look like they have been loved and have a fair amount of scuffs and surface scratches. Not in terrible condition, but would look like it would play with a lot of crackle. FAIR (F) For discs that may have some life left in them but are pretty trashed with numerous surface scuffs and heavier scuffs and scratches etc POOR (P) For discs that are unplayable and look completely trashed. Discs like this would only ever be offered if they were insanely rare.
