BEATLES 1969 RARE Stereo UK Parlophone LP 'Oldies but Goldies' - NO SOLD IN UK

After 20 years of collecting, the time has come for me to sell my Beatles collection and let other collectors appreciate some of the records and memorabilia I've accumilated over the years. Please be aware that all records are VISUALLY graded only - all grades are given based on how they appear under my desk lamp - since I do not own a record player. I cannot guarantee that discs will be click and skip free, although any marks and scratches that might possibly cause such problems will be highlighted clearly in the description.

This is the 1969 press that features the old yellow / black label design but omits the 'Sold in the UK' statement! These are incredibly rare and hardly ever turn up for sale!

In mid 1969 the tax laws that required UK domestic presses to feature the 'Sold in the UK...' statement since 1964 were changed, and so this text on the label was removed. This happened literally just a couple of months before Parlophone adopted the EMI 'one box' silver / black label design that the other EMI labels were beginning to use. By the time this was happening the fans were buying albums like Abbey Road and Let It Be and the earlier albums were barely selling at all.

So we have a label variation that was only available for a couple of months at a time when nobody was really buying the album. It's because of this that this variation is incredibly hard to find!

Interestingly, the date of purchase has been written on the front cover, the inner sleeve and on the label - 29th October 1971. Since this album was manufactured for a very small amount of time in 1969 it suggests that this LP sat on the shop shelf for 2 years after it was manufactured before it was bought. That's how little this album was selling!!

The playing surface has a lovely, crisp shine to it and just some light scuffs and a couple of slightly heavier looking scuffs. But overall, the disc is looking nice!

The labels are clean, crisp and clear with bright text. On side 1 there are just a couple of very light, faint little spindlemarks and a touch of whitening around the centrehole. The side 2 label has a little more, slightly heavier looking spindlewear with a touch of whitening around the centrehole. The purchase date of 10/24/71 has been written at the top left in black biro.
