Found this little gem while upcycling tapes into a lamp, caught my eye as io was going therough the box, so after some resaerch it turns out its rather special as you'll see below:


A lovely example of the rare UK EMI first release cassette version of The Beatles "Abbey Road" from the period 1969-1971.


All elements in excellent condition with no tears.


Played and tested.


The first original release of this Beatles cassette album was from November 1969 ( the same time as the vinyl LP) to end of 1971. From January 1972 the very different designed "all gold" inlay REissues were marketed, along with different shells, when the cassette format really took off, leaving these "prototype" early experimental designs, with their lime green paper labels and full artwork, which were sold in relatively low numbers, ideal collectors items today.
