Another from my personal collection of over 50,00 Uk albums that I have collected over a period of 45 years or more!.WOW! What a great sounding copy! This is an early original 1st UK pressing of The Beatles "Abbey Road" released in 1969 on the earliest 'Darker' Apple labels in the UK. (This earliest 1st UK pressing issue label variation in the UK on Darker Apple labels with no Her Majesy on side two. ( Her Majesty missing as the last track on listing and missing on the vinyl listing) Visually the vinyl looks superb with just light paper scuffs but no deep scratches or marks.  No needle scratches or marks that would cause any loud constant clicks or pops, however isolated static typ pops were heard only. Please listen to the recording in the player below. I would grade the audio at Least excellent to excellent plus throughout in my opinion. I heard isolated static ticks or pops only No loud constant clicks or pops during the audio and importantly no distortion or signs that this record has been overplayed.. No real nasty crackle even in quieter places really stunning clarity only found like this on the earliest pressings. Very very rare to find like this after 50 years!
This is complete with the original 1st Garrod & Lofthouse printed, fully laminated cover is also in excellent condition. Super glossy in appearance, light wear with age only. Complete with the original Apple die cut record sleeve.

Abbey Road is the eleventh studio album by the English rock band the Beatles, released on 26 September 1969 by Apple Records.




Named after the location of EMI Studios in London, the cover features the group walking across the street's zebra crossing, an image that became one of the most famous and imitated in popular music.





The album's initially mixed reviews were contrasted by its immediate commercial success, topping record charts in the UK and US.




The lead single "Something" / "Come Together" was released in October and topped the US charts.




The album incorporates genres such as blues, rock and pop, and makes prominent use of Moog synthesizer, sounds filtered through a Leslie speaker, and tom-tom drums.








It is the Beatles' only album recorded exclusively through a solid-state transistor mixing desk, which afforded a clearer and brighter sound than the group's previous records. Side two contains a medley of shorter song fragments. The sessions also produced a non-album single, "The Ballad of John and Yoko" backed with "Old Brown Shoe".





Producer George Martin returned on the condition that the Beatles adhere to the discipline of their earlier records. They found the album's recording more enjoyable than the preceding Get Back sessions, but personal issues still permeated the band.







Production lasted from February to August 1969, and the closing track "The End" marked the final occasion that all four members recorded together. John Lennon privately left the group six days before the album's release; Paul McCartney publicly declared the band's break-up the following April.

The Vinyl
On visual inspection this looks superb, this has been played but not over played in my opinion. This is the earliest and original thick and heavier type of vinyl only found like this on the earliest pressings.  Any marks that could possibly be seen angled to the light would be sleeve removal type/paper scuffs only, at least nothing deep or feelable that would cause any loud constant clicks or pops.  The vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable and is free of any warping. Importantly, there are no visual marks that would cause any loud constant clicks/ticks or pops during the play of this vinyl.

The Audio Quality
I have play tested the vinyl two times on two different turntables/systems at very loud volume prior to this listing. Once for you to hear the complete album. (Can be heard in the player above)
The moment that the needle hits the playing surface it is obvious to me that this has not been overplayed. WOW absolutely stunning audio! Crystal clear and vibrant stunning top audio throughout the play of this vinyl. I heard no loud constant clicks or pops during the play of the vinyl. There is the odd isolated static ticks or pops may be heard but nothing that detracted from the overall exceptional sound too much in my opinion.  I would grade the audio at least excellent to excellent plus for the most part in my opinion! Very Very Vibrant! A superbe playable copy!

Please note! Allowances must be made for these early pressings. They are notorious for static ticks/pops/crackle in some or quieter places. I always add this disclaimer! Please allow for very light isolated static type crackle/ticks/popds that might be noticed in quieter places, but not consistent through out the audio. Debrit was noted on the playing surface after play. A constant clean before each play is recommended because this vinyl has been stored in a case laying dormant for over 40 years. A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves causes static ticks/ crackle. constant cleaning before each play will reduce this and enhance the audio quality.
 
The Labels
These are the original UK issue 'Darker' Apple labels. Spider marks can be seen angled to the light, this has obviously been played but not overplayed in my opinion. Note these are the original darker green labels only found on the earliest pressings later press these were lighter green!  There is little if no spindle wear the hole is perfectly round. No 'Her Majesty' is featured on side two (Only 1st UK Pressings)

The Record Sleeve
This is the original 1st issue black die cut Apple paper record sleeve. This is straight and generally clean with light creasing only.  The edges are becoming fragile with age and beginning to split. (Note this is the original.) The vinyl is now always stored separately from the sleeve and cover. This is how I have always stored my records.

The Cover
This is the original 1st UK issue fully laminated Garrod & Lofthouse printed cover. Super glossy in appearance very rare to find after 50 years! No real nasty creases to report on the front. Light creases at the rear and light impressions in the laminate to mention only. The Apple logo is alligned.  Any creases are minor crease lines at the edges. Any rubbing noted at the edges are only noticed if looked for in my opinion. All text at the spine is readable. It is noted that the vinyl is now always stored separately from the cover. Rich and very vibrant colours. I would grade this cover at excellent in my opinion. Nice after being over 50 years old!
