Description

Beatles Stereo 3rd State Butcher Cover w/Removed Trunk Slick, Record and Inner Sleeve
Please read entire description/auction terms prior to bidding on this item. Thank You
If you've been looking for a genuine and authentic 3rd State (peeled) Stereo Butcher Cover with the Removed Truck Slick of that you will be proud to display or frame with the removed trunk slick but don't want to drop $1500 or more, then this might be for you ! These STEREO jackets are at least five times as rare as their mono counterparts but some say 10 times as rare. At any rate, mono was still the more produced designation in 1966 as far as Beatles records go. Please view the photos and specific condition description and compare with other peels on the web in this price range. See last photo for jacket prior to peel. While the peel is excellent, the jacket has some structural seam/spine issues and as a result, has been highly discounted accordingly. If you are considering framing this piece, the seams and spine condition becomes a non issue.
Unlike most offerings on the net (see details below in the condition section), these nicely peeled STEREO jackets are much harder to come by in such displayable condition. Many look awful with pronounced horizontal brush streaks that were created by the paste over/trunk slick application back in 1966.
Although it is sad each week to see more and more recently poorly peeled/mediocre peeled covers go up for sale, the good news is that jackets such as this that present well with a framable Trunk Slick are only increasing in value as more and more get destroyed each week by amateur peel attempts.
Please read the jacket description below for specific details on condition.
Look around and compare. Please also check our positive feedback for customer satisfaction of past sales of genuine Butcher Covers. Also look at realized prices of completed auctions and compare.
This item will be safely and securely double boxed and shipped to you via Priority Mail.
Please read complete description and view photos carefully prior to bidding.
Condition:  Front of Jacket:
Front Peeled Butcher Slick presents nicely from an excellent professional peeling process. Capitol factory glue lines from the trunk slick adhesive process are light and don't interfere or overpower the overall look of this peel. No big tears or other tragedies that you commonly see on these peeled jackets. Any professional touch up, if any, would be very minor on this jacket.
Overall a nice example of this rarer Scranton Pa. STEREO Butcher Cover.
Please see photos to verify the specific conditions described and feel free to contact with questions.

Seams:  Top seam was mostly split and reinforced with archival hinging material. Bottom also had such splitting and has the same reinforcement. To protect the integrity of the seams and avoid future damage, a record should never be attempted to be placed or stored in this jacket. This album jacket is nearly 60 years old and should be protected accordingly (See Seam photos).
Spine:  Spine also was mostly split and exhibits paper loss etc. Some of the spine printing is legible at the top of the spine. (See Spine photos).
Back Of Jacket:   The back of the jacket exhibits moderate tanning, some wear spots, tape residue, touch up etc . (See photo of back)
Trunk Slick:  Removed trunk slick is included in framable condition as shown with some wrinkling, wear, tear and repair from the peeling process.
Record/Inner Sleeve:  Correct Scranton record is included in Fair to Good visual condition. Typical 60's record that was thoroughly played and enjoyed. Played through much better than it looks without anything major in the way of disturbance. 1965 Olive Capitol Inner sleeve included that exhibits some staining confined mostly to one edge.
Terms Of Auction/Shipping: Due to recent inflation and subsequent increases in actual USPS shipping costs, Buyer pays $39.99 for properly packed double boxed priority shipping with tracking. Shipping of such a high value, large package with significant weigh is costly and labor intensive and will likely be more that what is being charged here. Regardless, the cost to you will be capped at $39.99. Bidders with low feedback or new accounts must contact us prior to bidding on this item. Seller reserves the right to cancel bids at any time. Due to the exceptional cost and labor involved in shipping this item, this is being sold "AS IS" and there are No Returns on this purchase. Please review all photos and descriptions and please contact with questions prior to bidding. This item has been through a laborious process from the 2nd state to what you see here, and as such, the grading is unique on this item. This cannot be graded like a comic book or a baseball card due to the fact that this jacket has twice been altered from its original state, once by the paste over process at the Capitol Factory and likewise by the peeling process. Any minor imperfections are from either process. The photos speak for themselves and we do our best to accurately grade these historic artifacts.
Please note: T shirt seen in background in some photos is not included and used for display purposes only.
Thank You !
